What is New Year in the Park?

New Year in the Park’s mission is to foster greater understanding and appreciation among various Southeast Asian and greater Portland communities. This celebration is the most important and largest traditional Southeast Asian cultural festival. It provides the opportunity to offer blessings and honor elders, monks, family, friends and the community. It gives Southeast Asian communities the chance to come together to celebrate and share their rich cultural heritage with the general public.

New Year in the Park will showcase cultural dance and music performances, traditional games, cultural crafts and activities, and vendor booths with food and merchandise. The purpose of our cultural event is to highlight vibrant Southeast Asian communities in the greater Portland area.

Attendance is free and we invite everyone to join us.

Meet the team!

The New Year in the Park Planning Committee is entirely made up of passionate community members who want to make positive impact within their community. These individuals volunteer their time to plan, implement, and execute this annual event. We welcome anyone who is interested to get involved!
